Interior Design can transform how you live your everyday life
I haven’t written on my blog for a VERY long time! I have just been so busy with work and house hunting and I’ve also bought a house!
So… I thought I would update you on the progress of my parent’s extension. We finally finished it just before Christmas! We gave ourselves a deadline and planned a New Year’s Party, so that it HAD to be completed 🙂
I will remind you how our house looked at the back
There was an outhouse which was knocked down and then the extension was built right across the back, with the back room flowing through into a big open plan space.
It’s amazing how interior design can completely change how you live, for the better. Before the extension was built, we didn’t have a separate living room and the Kitchen was so small and cramped. It wasn’t very ideal for entertaining. But now the space is utilised in so many way’s, first of all we had a party! It makes the kitchen a much more sociable area and people can interact with each other whilst doing different things. We created an open plan kitchen, dining area with large bi-folding doors that open up into the garden and a cosy seating zone in the existing back room with a gas ‘log’ burning fire and comfy corner sofa.
It’s completely transformed the way we live and become the hub of our house. Too bad that I will be moving out into my own home in a month! All we need to do now is add the finishing touches to bring in a splash of colour. Anyone got any suggestion’s?
