I am in the process of looking for accessories for my living room and kitchen and I am loving all the metallic copper pieces that are out there at the minute! Accessories are really important in Interior Design - they complete a room and make it so much more homely and inviting. A few cushions, a nice light and some statement vases can transform a room, just like a nice necklace, handbag and shoes can transform a simple outfit.

I have picked out some of my favourite copper accessories that are in stores at the moment and also found some fabulous images on Pinterest that have given me inspiration on how to integrate this metallic colour into my rooms. The key to getting it right is - 'less is more'.

I love the copper pendant lights to go above a dining table or breakfast bar. I found this one below from B&Q  called 'Spun' for a bargain £31.98. www.diy.com

These occasional tables are by Content By Conran from John Lewis , these are a great statement piece that can go nice with rich jewel tones like aubergine, teal and bottle green. www.johnlewis.com

Rob really wanted a spinning globe for our house and I found this one on www.notonthehighstreet.com This website is brilliant for unique gifts and home accessories. I always have a look on here if I can't find what I'm looking for in the shops.

This picture was found on Pinterest. Unfortunately I don't know where these chairs are from but I think they are really nice!! They look like second hand chairs that have been up-cycled.

These little vases are cute - I really like the shape of them. They are quite affordable ranging from just £11.50 - £23.50 from Rigby & Mac, an online shop that also sells unique and eclectic bits and bobs. www.rigbyandmac.com

This Conran metal cannister is £35 from M&S.

Tom Dixon has an amazing range of lighting, with quite a few copper designs. The 'Beat' pendant lights are my favourite. They look great in a cluster with the different shapes at varied heights, or even in a row of the same shape for a simple clean look. www.ralphcapper.com
