Cowshed: A Steak Restaurant in Liverpool With Great Interior Design

Cowshed Liverpool: Food & Interior Design Review

As soon as I stepped foot in this restaurant I knew I was going to love it! If you are a regular reader of my blog you may know that I'm a bit obsessed with floors, doors, cool lighting and exposed brick when I'm exploring different places to eat in Liverpool. I'm a big design geek; I love restaurants with unique interior design or architectural features and this place ticks all the boxes. If you are exploring Liverpool on a city break then I'd recommend visiting this little hidden gem on Seel Street called Cowshed. This steak house is the perfect choice of restaurant if you fancy a meal in a stylish setting.

My friend suggested we try Cowshed as we both fancied a steak and had never been before. She had been recommended by a friend, so we were really intrigued to try it out. The restaurant is only small but has a friendly and homely vibe with a lovely bar area and exposed brick wall. The entrance has some amazing old tiles on the floor and I couldn't resist taking a photo. The friendly waitress must have thought we were insane because every time she came over to check we were ok, we were busy taking photos of the food and interior!

We opted for the deep-fried halloumi fingers with macaroni and cheese croquettes to share from the grazing bite dishes. For our main course we decided on 'The Greedy Cow' option from the steak menu, which included all three types of steak, two sauces and two sides for £40 (of course we shared this too). This was a great choice because I love trying lots of different things, rather than just having one big meal to myself. I just get bored way too easy. I'm always the one that suggests getting two meals and sharing half of each when I eat out!

"Why don't you pick one and I'll pick one and then we can share them both!"

This doesn't always go down well if the other person's meal ends up much nicer than the one I choose!! Plus... some people can be a bit protective of their own food and hate sharing. I just prefer the sharing platter or small plate/tapas type food because it allows me to vary the flavours and try more things to keep it interesting.

All in all the food was delicious, the interior was lovely and the staff were really attentive. I'd highly recommend visiting this place if you want to eat somewhere a little different to the usual steak house.
