New Year, New Diary, New Goals

How I Plan To Escape My Comfort Zone In 2018

As we enter 2018 I'm feeling optimistic and excited for the new year ahead. It's incredible how much can change in just twelve months and with a little planning and goal setting you can achieve some extraordinary things. Change is scary but if you don't push yourself outside your comfort zone every once in a while, you can find yourself stuck in a rut. Instead of accepting the status quo, change presents an opportunity for personal growth and self development.

Here are a few goals I'm setting myself next year which will hopefully push me outside of my comfort zone even further.

Goal Number One - Learn A New Skill

I've bought myself a professional camera so that I can experiment with photography and video to create more original content for my blog. I have a big task of learning from scratch but I'm going to make sure that I set aside a chunk of time every week to practise.

Goal Number Two - Venture Somewhere New

I really want to travel more next year and after jet setting 18 hours to meet my travelling friends in Bali, it's really given me the travel bug and I'm even considering booking a solo travel city break somewhere!

Goal Number Three - Improve My Negative Traits

One of my negative traits is that I can be unorganised and a bit last minute with things. I'm naturally more of a spontaneous person but I want to be more organised with my blogging schedule because I feel like I'm holding myself back. Instead of ad hoc/ random posts (which is what I tend to do at the moment) I want to be more consistent with days/times and plan the content in advance. I'm going to find it really hard resisting the temptation to publish it straight away!

You probably already know the best way to achieve your goals is to write them down; keep a diary, plan small tasks to carry out each week and stick to the plan. I've sourced some of my favourite diaries available for 2018 to help you achieve your goals each month. Which one is your favourite?

I'm feeling very grateful for the amazing people in my life who have helped me with my goals or given me moral support when I need it most. A massive thanks to everyone who reads and shares my blogs and I wish everyone heaps of success, happiness and most importantly good health for 2018. Happy New Year!

  1. Love your first goal – I’m so with you there! I’ve spent most of my time today researching courses. Imagine all the things we’ll have tried / accomplished if you follow through an learn a new skill every year! Good luck with the photography. Rx

    1. Thank you! I feel like I haven’t learnt anything new for such a long time. I might do the same and look for a night course so I can at least meet other people whilst learning! X

  2. Good luck with your year. I think you’ll be amazed what you achieve by the end of it since you’ve written your goals down AND made it public! x
